
Andy Gabel
Andy originally from Minocqua, Wisconsin moved to the Tetons in 2010 and resides in Victor, Idaho with his wife and son. He plays music at the Teton Valley, Idaho and Jackson, Wyoming area.
Andy Gabel has explored various musical styles, honed multiple stringed instruments and has sung many songs over decades. He sings as a solo musician, accompanies bands with his 5-string banjo and dobro and sings harmony. For his first musical endeavor he played guitar and sang as a duo with NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Gaelynn Lea. The duo played old time folk songs before Gaelynn pursued her own music career.

Musical Influences
Tony Trischka, Earl Scruggs, Noam Pickilney, Andy Hall, The Beatles, Doc Watson, Hank Williams, all the great Americana artists, 90’s grunge, Led Zeppelin and all his string picking friends.
Andy played three finger style bluegrass banjo with group, Wood Smoke Rising based in Jackson, Wyoming. The Gabel Brothers are a duo based out of Victor, Idaho with his youngest brother Wes. With brother Wes, Andy explores the notion of playing pop songs on the banjo while adding backup vocals. Andy plays Dobro and sings with Driggs, Idaho musician Henry Pepin who has recently been recognized as 1st runner up at the Wyoming singer songwriter competition. Andy and Henry now play together in the group, Henry and the Moguls in a style of Outlaw Country. In addition, he plays with in a fiddle and banjo duo with fiddler, Mark Engel. The two play instrumentals of popular songs such as “Clocks” by Coldplay. He has picked fiddle tunes with many musicians over the years which led him to a position with the Grand Targhee Music camp working to teach aspiring musicians and lead jam circles.
